Clifford George LaVanture, Sr., 57, of Taylor Hill in Charlestown, died of a heart attack on Sunday morning, February 28, 2010 at his home.

He was born in Bellows Falls, Vt on December 26, 1952 the son of Frank George and Mabel Rose (Fenton) LaVanture and had resided in Charlestown, NH most of his life.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era having served in the US Air Force from 1970 to 1980.  Mostly in Guam.

Clifford was employed for the past seven years as a cabinet maker at the Vermont Custom Cabinetry in Bellows Falls.  He was previously employed at Skyline Design, J.H. Dunning, Crown Point Cabinetry and Holson Photos.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, carpentry, building, lawn mowing, plumbing and landscaping.

The surviving family includes his wife, Katherine Louise (George) LaVanture of Charlestown whom he married on July 1, 1995; one son, Clifford G. LaVanture, Jr. of Charlestown; three sisters, Ruby Mendes of Bardwell, KY, Cynthia Carter of Charlestown and Lorie Streeter of Buckeye, AZ; two brothers, Dennis LaVanture of Sullivan and Frank E. LaVanture of Chidester, Ark., also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was pre-deceased by an infant brother Ronald C. LaVanture.

There will be a time of fellowship and sharing at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street on Wednesday evening, March 3rd from  6 to 8 PM.

The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to his wife, Katherine LaVanture at 61 Taylor Hill, Apt. #3, Charlestown, NH 03603.
